Responsibility and purpose
Nathanaël G. Dürst is responsible for this website's use of visitor statistics. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives an overall count of visits and page views. Google Analytics, when enabled, helps assess which pages are read, how visitors reach them and which links are useful. Neither is used here for advertising or personalised marketing.
What is measured
After consent, Google Analytics receives page visits, engagement activity, approximate location and device information, referral and campaign information, and actions such as document-link and contact-option clicks. Cookies distinguish visits and sessions. A contact click records interest in that option; it does not establish that a message was sent.
Names, email addresses and message contents are not requested for analytics. Unknown URL parameters and page fragments are removed from the page address supplied by the website. Google Analytics processes this information on Google's infrastructure, which can include countries outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area. Cookie-free visit count
Cloudflare Web Analytics runs on every page, whether or not statistics are allowed, so that the overall number of visits is known. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It records the page viewed, the referring page, browser and device type, page-loading performance and the country derived from the request. Cloudflare states that it does not use cookies or local storage to track visitors and does not identify individuals from their IP address or browser details. The figures are aggregated: they count visits and page views, not individual people, and cannot be linked to Google Analytics data.
Cloudflare processes this information on its global network, which can include countries outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Declining Google Analytics does not stop this count. Without JavaScript, it does not run.
Your choice
Allow or decline Google Analytics using the visitor-statistics panel. Both choices are remembered in this browser for 180 days. Cookie preferences in the footer reopen the panel when analytics is enabled. Declining stops Google Analytics collection and removes its cookies. Consent can be withdrawn at any time; withdrawal does not remove information already collected.
The preference is stored locally in your browser. Google Analytics cookies used here expire after 180 days without further activity. Clearing browser storage removes the remembered choice. Without JavaScript, optional analytics does not run.
Individual event data in Google Analytics is retained for two months. Aggregated reports can be retained longer. To request access to, correction or deletion of personal information associated with a visit, use the contact options below. A browser identifier or the date and context of the visit may be needed to locate it.
Hosting and correspondence
The hosting provider may record technical requests, including IP addresses, to operate and protect the website. These server records are separate from both forms of visitor statistics. Email and LinkedIn links open those services, whose own privacy terms apply.
Page fonts are supplied by Google Fonts. Loading them sends a request to Google's servers, including your IP address and technical browser information, even when visitor statistics are declined.
